Established in 2002 in the vicinity of Montreal, Canada, Ultraperf began operations with the acquisition of a modest perforating unit and the technical support of a PhD food scientist who developed the respiration models for fresh-cut and whole produce with the corresponding perforation matrixes.
Ultraperf’s foundation was built on innovation and precision.
Ultraperf’s unique approach involves tailoring the number, size, and positioning of micro perforations in a package to match the gas exchange requirements of each specific produce item.
This customization ensures the optimal levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide & moisture within the package, thereby extending the shelf life and quality of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The result is less food waste, which became the underlying focus of Ultraperf.
Initially Ultraperf supplied microperforated films primarily to local vegetable processors. Over the years Ultraperf’s client base grew to cover most of Canada and numerous US regions.
Our clients include processors, packers & growers in the produce industry and numerous clients in other perishable food sectors.
As pioneers in the microperforated film industry in North America, Ultraperf boasts a wealth of knowledge that spans the evolution of this specialized field.
In early 2022, we achieved a significant milestone by installing a state-of-the-art wide web perforation and slitting line, the sole of its kind in the Americas.

Our commitment to innovation extends beyond our perforation technology. Over the years, we’ve expanded our product portfolio to include a comprehensive range of single resin films that are 100% recyclable.
This encompasses a full line of lidding films offering peelable, lock seal, and reseal properties, as well as flow wrap films, vertical bagger films, low oxygen transmission (OTR) films, medium-high barrier films, and pre-made bags & pouches.
Our films & bags are available printed, plain, micro/macro perforated, vented, or non-perforated with low minimum order quantities & short lead times.
